Random group generator
The random group generator splits every name into evenly sized random groups. Paste a roster, choose the number of groups or a target group size, then generate a fresh set of teams.

Random group generator questions
How the list is divided and what the result means.
What if the names do not divide evenly?
Everyone stays in a group, and sizes differ by no more than one. A target size of 5 with 12 names makes three balanced groups of 4.
Can I use the random team generator to make pairs?
Yes. Choose Size and set the target to 2. With an odd number of names, one group will have three people instead of leaving one person alone.
Does it balance skill levels?
No. This group randomizer balances the number of people, not skills or other traits. Regenerate the groups or make any skill-based changes yourself.
Can I paste a whole roster at once?
Yes. Add multiple accepts one name per line, and CSV import supports a roster of up to 250 names to split into groups.
Can I show the groups on a TV?
Yes. Full screen enlarges the boards. Press Space to make new groups and Esc to exit.
